ASEAN Scholarship for Lao PDR 2022:
Singapore MOE Awards Secondary Scholarship
to SengdaraIS Year 11 Student

Ms. Thipphakesone Keobounphanh (Nini), a Grade 11 student at Sengdara International School, received ASEAN Scholarship for Lao PDR this year. This prestigious scholarship covers 4 years of high school and pre-university education in Singapore and is awareded by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) to bright young students from ASEAN countries and China to study in Singapore.

Singapore Ambassador to Laos Madam Leow Siu Lin presented the ASEAN Scholarship Award Letter to Ms. Thipphakesone Keobounphanh (Nini) on October 24, 2022 at the Embassy of Singapore in Vientiane. Aside from the Singapore diplomats who graced the awarding program held yesterday, the key officers from the Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Sengdara International School (SIS), and Ms. Keobounphanh’s family attended the said important event. Ambassador Leow congratulated Ms. Keobounphanh and encouraged her to embrace her new living and learning environment and make new friends during her learning journey in the next four years in Singapore.

The invitation to ASEAN Scholarship for Lao PDR was opened to all schools in Laos in May 2022 to June 2022. There were 30 secondary student applicants who participated in taking the selection tests, namely the English test and the mathematics test. Among the 30 applicants, only 1 successful applicant, Ms. Thipphakesone Keobounphanh (Nini) from Sengdara International School,  passed the given test and received the said scholarship.

The SengdaraIS Administrators were humbled to be congratulated and recognized as a school in Vientiane that produces internationally competent and proficient students.

Indeed, it is a huge admiration and great honor to have Ms. Thipphakesone Keobounphanh (Nini) awarded as the only recipient this year of the prestigious Singapore-based scholarship, ASEAN Scholarship for Lao PDR.
